Iqos Iluma I Standard

The IQOS ILUMA i Standard is the middle model in the ILUMA i range — a pocket charger with a separate holder, using the same SMARTCORE INDUCTION SYSTEM as the rest of the line. Six colours in stock, from AED 270.

It sits between the i One at AED 170, which is a single all-in-one unit, and the i Prime at AED 370, which is larger with a leather-effect finish. For most people this is the sensible choice.

The five standard colours are identical apart from the finish. Electric Purple is a limited run, which is why it costs more — the device inside is the same.

All three heat the same sticks the same way. The difference is format, size and price.

The practical difference: the i One is one piece — when the battery runs down you stop until it charges. The i Standard and i Prime have a separate charger, so you keep going through the day. If you use more than a few sticks a day, that is the reason to spend the extra AED 100.

How to use it

1. Charge the pocket charger over USB-C.
2. Insert a TEREA stick into the holder.
3. Hold the button until it vibrates and the light confirms it has started.
4. Use it, then remove and dispose of the stick.
5. Return the holder to the charger between sessions.

There is no blade inside, so nothing needs cleaning between sticks.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the i Standard and the older ILUMA?

The i series is the newer generation with a pause function, extra puffs and eco mode. Both use induction heating and take the same TEREA sticks. The earlier ILUMA kit is still available.

Does it need cleaning?

No. There is no blade, so no tobacco residue builds up. This is the main practical difference from IQOS 3 DUO and earlier models.

Why is Electric Purple AED 380?

It is a limited run. The device is the same inside as the AED 270 colours — you are paying for the finish.

Can I use HEETS in it?

No. Only TEREA sticks work with any ILUMA device.

What does the pause function do?

You can stop mid-session and come back to the same stick rather than losing it.

Is it worth paying more for the i Prime?

Only for the size and finish. The heating system and the sticks are identical. Most people are well served by the i Standard.
