TEREA is a heated tobacco stick made by Philip Morris International for the IQOS ILUMA family of devices. It is heated, not burned, and it only works in ILUMA and ILUMA i devices. If you are new to TEREA in the UAE, this guide covers the basics in plain words.
What TEREA actually is
A TEREA stick looks like a short cigarette, but it is built differently. Inside the tobacco section sits a thin metal heating element. The ILUMA device heats that element by induction, so the tobacco is warmed from the inside of the stick. There is no blade in the device and nothing is lit.
Because the heating element is inside the stick, a TEREA stick must never be taken apart, and a used stick should be disposed of out of reach of children and pets.
How TEREA differs from HEETS
HEETS were made for older IQOS devices that use a heating blade. TEREA is made for ILUMA devices that use induction. The two are not interchangeable: TEREA should not be used in a blade device, and HEETS will not work in an ILUMA. Our TEREA and HEETS compatibility guide explains this device by device.
Which devices use TEREA
TEREA is used with the full IQOS ILUMA range sold in the UAE, including ILUMA Prime, ILUMA and ILUMA One, plus the newer ILUMA i models. Some third-party devices, such as the LAMBDA i8, are also sold as TEREA-compatible.
What is in a pack
A standard pack holds 20 sticks and a carton holds 10 packs. Each stick is used for one session and is then thrown away.
Flavours and country editions
TEREA is sold in many markets, and each market has its own line-up. That is why shops in the UAE list several editions side by side. On this site you will find the TEREA UAE edition, along with Kazakhstan, Indonesia, Japan, Swiss, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan editions under TEREA by country.
Flavour names are colour based. Broadly, names such as Amber, Sienna, Bronze and Teak are tobacco blends, names such as Turquoise, Blue and Green are menthol blends, and the Pearl names contain a capsule in the filter that you click to change the taste. Popular choices with our customers include TEREA Blue Indonesia, TEREA Silver Swiss and TEREA Summer Wave Kazakhstan. You can browse everything under TEREA flavours.
How to choose your first TEREA
- Start with the style you already like. If you smoked a regular tobacco cigarette, try a tobacco blend first. If you smoked menthol, start with a menthol blend.
- Start with one carton. TEREA listings on this site are sealed cartons of 10 packs, so begin with one carton of a flavour before stocking up.
- Check the edition. The same flavour name can taste slightly different between country editions.
Quick answers
Can I use TEREA without an IQOS ILUMA?
No. TEREA needs an induction device made for it. It cannot be lit like a cigarette.
Is TEREA available for delivery in the UAE?
Yes. See our TEREA delivery areas page for the places we cover.
Where can I check the current price?
Prices change, so each product page shows the current one. Our TEREA price guide explains what affects the price in Dubai and the UAE.
TEREA and IQOS products contain nicotine and are intended only for legal-age adults who already smoke or use nicotine products. This article is product information, not health advice.
